Glassboro, NJ – May 24, 2018
The public has spoken and they have named 137 area companies to this year’s Best of Gloucester County’s list of favorite local businesses. Those businesses are scheduled to be honored during a Shop. Dine. Go Local reception June 4 at Auletto Caterers in Deptford, N.J.
“These businesses represent what is so great about living and working here in Gloucester County. Every day these and other businesses work hard to serve our community honestly and admirably,” said Les Vail, president and CEO of the Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce.
The recognized businesses represent a variety of categories including consumer products, food, retail, professional services, business-to-business organizations and more.
Voting began approximately one month ago and as in previous years, generated a lot of enthusiasm, Vail said.
The yearly contest is supported by the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Gloucester County Chamber of Commerce. This year’s sponsors are TD Bank and NJ Advance Media/South Jersey Times.
“Our business community is the heart of our county and this competition allows us to help honor them and showcase the people’s choice for ‘Best Of’ in may categories,” said Robert M. Damminger, director of the Gloucester County Freeholder Board.
Approximately 20 percent of the winners are chamber members. Vail said the chamber’s influence in this Best Of event is double that of other counties holding similar public opinion polls.
“We are a people first organization. To see that many chamber members comprise this Best Of list means we are working hard for our members every day,” he said.
The celebration is scheduled to take place for 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Winners, guests and the public will have a chance to mingle and network with one another in Auletto’s award-winning wine cellar. Hors d’oeuvres as well as a cash bar will be available during the awards presentations.
The public is invited to attend and can register through the GCCC website’s event page at http://gc-chamber.com/
